Kristin Derryberry is a multimedia artist and writer based in Portland, Or. Her work focuses on critical horror studies, internet culture and human desire.
While her work encompasses a diverse range of media, it is done with a cohesively clean aesthetic that emphasizes slowness and contemplation.
Kristin currently is a second year dual candidate at Pacific Northwest College of Art getting her degrees in MA Critical Studies and MFA in Visual Studies. She recently has shown at the Lodge Gallery in November, The Glass Building and Tiny Thumb gallery within the past year. She works within the range of video installation, illustration and minimal design. The installations Kristin constructs incorporate found objects, 2D work and video work in unison to allow the viewer to understand their place in the realm of internet by connecting with others and how they understand their own mortality. The works are carefully considering the specific space she is working within and attends to what the space demands, which means no two displays of the same work is alike.
